Earlier this summer I had the pleasure of shooting Lindsay and Brian's chill, fun-loving wedding at Smack Mellon in DUMBO with Photographer Karen Wise. The people were fabulous, the food was delicious, the music was great, the flowers were gorgeous, the bride was beautiful, the groom was stylish, oh the accolades go on and on. I had a great time shooting this one.
Complex Magazine put on a Foot Locker sponsored event for the launch of Sneakerpedia at Good Units in New York the evening of May 17th. Somehow I didn't see anybody wearing the same pair of shoes that night. Evidently there are more sneakers in existence than I ever imagined. Take a look:
Last fall I shot Brian and Alison's wedding with photographer Karen Wise. The photographs were shot at the Waldorf Astoria and Central Park. To me, Brian and Alison seemed like the quintessential New York power couple (which I think is evident in the first black and white photo) so shooting at these locations was very fitting.
Last night I went to a party in Bushwick in an apartment that boasted its own wood shop and 4 ft tall urinals. I drank Butternut Squash Beer while Willy Gantrim performed as well as Feral Foster (pictured above). I took some video that evening as well which I might post at another time. Video is a new beast for me, but you guys should probably hear these fellas sing. For now, the photos...
Here are some shots from my visit to the Goldstein's store, Park Avenue Liquor in Midtown Manhattan. Some of these photos ran in the November-December issue of Edible Manhattan. The first picture was printed as a whole page and it looked so nice!
Before running home to Arkansas for Christmas I had a holiday card photo shoot with my dear friend, Kim Robinson. We walked around Park Slope and DUMBO to get photos with a Brooklyn feel. I didn't want to spoil his holiday message-sending by posting these too early so here they are now... as you can see, it was a fun day. Happy 2011 everybody.
Last Thursday the incredible music super-geek Kim Robinson (pictured below, on the left) put on his second Classics Party in honor of No Jacket Required by Phil Collins. The event was at The Woods in Williamsburg with Obey City in charge of the mix--Phil Collins No Jacket Required jams along with music inspired by and that inspired the album. Last month I shot Native Arkansan Rob Newton's Carroll Gardens restaurant Seersucker for my old friends at Arkansas Life. I sent them the hi-res images of their picks earlier today so I thought I'd post some of the outtakes from the shoot. I'm going to have to go back and eat those Chicken and Dumplings...
I shot the wedding of John Galante and Mandy Hernandez with photographer Alexa Miller in Manhattan before it turned cold outside. The ceremony was in the beautiful St. Francis Xavier which I now walk by every day to go to work. Here are some shots from the day.
Recently, I joined David Lanthan Reamer in his Catching the Ox project. I met him through a mutual friend and colleague, Mike Gross. The two came up with this project which is supported by a small group of photographers scattered along the east and west coasts. Each month or so, some or all of the photographers create a photograph with the inspiration of a common culinary category. I participated in the "apples" category with David. He and I came up with two very different concepts and they look pretty great together if I do say so myself. Check it out here.
