This past Saturday, my wish for snow in New York City was finally granted. Hooray! Jeff and I had to travel in the weather to pick up something at a hotel uptown so we decided we'd walk through Central Park along the way. I took a couple photos of the park in the snow. I was just there a few weeks ago in the rain so things looked a little different.

Powell Family Shoot/ Central Park
The day before Thanksgiving, it was about hour 36 of constant rain showers in New York City. The Powells and I wore as much rainproof stuff as we could and took to Central Park for a family photo shoot. The family used to live in NYC, the elder daughter being born here, so they wanted to get photos that captured the spirit of the city as well as the season. It was pretty chilly and wet but I got some really great shots of the family in the city's most iconic park.
Mother of the Bride
It's a given that a wedding photographer should get photos of the bride and groom sharing special moments throughout their wedding day, but it's always a sweet bonus to capture the small moments between parents and their to-be-wed child.
At Erica and Ari's wedding that I shot with Karen Wise, I saw a sincere embrace between mother and daughter from another room. Where I was standing in the living area of the hotel room all was hustle and bustle, crowded with sisters, cousins, hairdressers. In the back bedroom, a mom and daughter shared a quiet moment to be thankful for each other. It was a sight to see and I'm glad I caught it here.
Also, can we talk about the Mother of the Bride's dress? Gorgeous.
Alice Feiring/ The Waverly Inn
Jeff Harding is StarChefs.com's ever-so-wonderful freelance wine writer. Earlier this week he interviewed Wine Writer and Expert Alice Feiring at The Waverly Inn --Harding's place of work. I had the pleasure of photographing Feiring at the entrance of The Waverly Inn and I love the colors in this shot. The purple and green work so nicely with Feiring's feiry hair.
Victoria/ Portland
This happy creature's name is Victoria. She belongs to Restaurateur Kurt Huffman, a 2011 Portland StarChefs.com Rising star. Victoria joined us for the Rising Star photo shoot in September on the rooftop at Departure and I couldn't help but turn the camera towards her.
Veronica/ Trump Soho
This is a picture of Veronica, a bride I photographed with Karen Wise in March. I really liked this graceful moment before the groom, Nick, entered the room for their 'first look.'
Lindsay & Brian/ Smack Mellon in DUMBO
Earlier this summer I had the pleasure of shooting Lindsay and Brian's chill, fun-loving wedding at Smack Mellon in DUMBO with Photographer Karen Wise. The people were fabulous, the food was delicious, the music was great, the flowers were gorgeous, the bride was beautiful, the groom was stylish, oh the accolades go on and on. I had a great time shooting this one.
Brian & Alison/ Waldorf Astoria & Central Park
Last fall I shot Brian and Alison's wedding with photographer Karen Wise. The photographs were shot at the Waldorf Astoria and Central Park. To me, Brian and Alison seemed like the quintessential New York power couple (which I think is evident in the first black and white photo) so shooting at these locations was very fitting.
Park Avenue Liquor/ Edible Manhattan Piece
Here are some shots from my visit to the Goldstein's store, Park Avenue Liquor in Midtown Manhattan. Some of these photos ran in the November-December issue of Edible Manhattan. The first picture was printed as a whole page and it looked so nice!
Happy Holidays 2010/ Hello 2011
Before running home to Arkansas for Christmas I had a holiday card photo shoot with my dear friend, Kim Robinson. We walked around Park Slope and DUMBO to get photos with a Brooklyn feel. I didn't want to spoil his holiday message-sending by posting these too early so here they are now... as you can see, it was a fun day. Happy 2011 everybody.
